All artwork must be original. This year’s theme is “Nature's Gift”. The theme should be interpreted as any structure in one’s life, family, social unit that occupies it, the environment which offers security and happiness or that valued place of refuge or origin. It can be the place you were born, lived or feel at one with. It could be real, perceived, physical, native habitat, plant or animal.
All artworks entered by the Artist must be the original work and concept of the Artist. A third party may not enter any works on behalf of an Artist. The entered work must be new (completed within the previous 24 months) and be the absolute property of the Artist.
An Artist may enter and exhibit as many artworks as they wish, however only one can be entered into the competition. All artworks for sale must be individually identified on the entry form and include the hanging fee of $5 per artwork with all relevant support material.
The cost of freight and insurance for works in the exhibition will be the sole responsibility of the Artist.
As in previous years official collection and pick-up depots throughout the State will be available. Details on these are provided in the Artwork Submission form.
The James Scott Decorative Arts Society Inc. will not be held responsible for any loss or damage, however caused to any work whilst in the Society’s custody. Each Artist is and shall be responsible for maintaining insurance cover on all artworks.
The James Scott Decorative Arts Society Inc. shall be entitled to and will retain 25% commission on all works sold. The net sale proceeds will be paid to the Artist within thirty (30) days of sale, provided settlement has been made in accordance with the conditions of sale. Payment will be made by cheque in Australian dollars.
After the close of the exhibition all works not sold can be collected from the Mechanics’ Hall on the last exhibition day, after 4pm Monday 13 June 2022 or the Collection Depots as per original instructions from Monday 20 June. Arrangements can be made for collection by emailing netacfestival@gmail.com, unless arrangements have been made for return by pre-paid freight vouchers.
